Should you be worried about Blue Light? (And what is “blue light”?)

Should you be worried about Blue Light? (And what is “blue light”?)

The average adult spends 9 hours a day on digital devices and our children are not far behind. Children between the ages of eight and 18 spend just under 8 hours a day with digital media. When the use of more than one digital device at a time is considered, they spend more than 10 ½ hours a day with digital technologies!!! Time on digital devices exposes our eyes to higher levels of “blue light,” leading to digital eye strain, sleep problems, blurred vision, headaches, and neck and shoulder pain.

UV protection and your eyes … why it’s a smart choice, especially living in San Antonio!

UV protection and your eyes … why it’s a smart choice, especially living in San Antonio!

Like most San Antonians I love our Winters, I love our Springs, I love our Falls, heck, I even love our Summers! And what do I love about our seasons?? Sunshine, sunshine, and more sunshine! Ok, so we did get about 2 inches of snowfall this past December, but that was the first accumulation in over 30 years (and wasn’t it just a little bit of fun playing outside and building a Snowman with our kids?)But in all seriousness, living in San Antonio puts us at risk for higher UV exposure compared to other more northern parts of the US.
